i2x wins award of the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy

i2x, the market leader for automated real-time communication analysis and training, was named “Digital Start-up of the Year 2019” by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWi) at IFA Next. The annual award recognizes particularly successful start-ups that have previously participated in a BMWi start-up initiative.

The Berlin-based start-up, founded in 2017, took third place and was awarded 10,000 euros in prize money. The BMWi particularly recognized i2x’s innovative product portfolio and growth prospects in its target markets. The artificial intelligence-based speech recognition and training tool decodes the black box of sales and service calls in real time and helps call center agents and salespeople improve their conversion rate. It also increases customer satisfaction as well as reduces training time. This is because users can use the cloud-based technology to have telephone conversations transcribed in German and English, as well as analyze speech patterns, sentence parts and expressions. Based on machine learning algorithms, Big Data and the knowledge of experts, the complex human communication is examined. The data is used to derive concrete recommendations for action during the conversation, making the user’s phone calls more professional and successful in the long term.

Michael Brehm, Founder of i2x: “The award is a great confirmation of our daily, technology-driven work. Within just a few months, we have already been able to celebrate great successes. Special thanks go to the BMWi for the valuable support in the exciting initial phase.”

Young companies from the start-up initiatives of the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy can apply for the “Digital Start-up of the Year” award. In addition to the “Start-up Competition – Digital Innovations”, these include funding programs such as “EXIST – Start-ups from Science” or the “German Accelerator”. One of the other conditions for participation: The founders must have generated a minimum turnover of 100,000 euros in the past twelve months. The award winners are selected with the support of an independent jury of experts from business and science.
